Re: Important Bargaining Update
Collective agreement negotiations resumed with your Employer during the week of April 3rd. Though talks were respectful, your bargaining committee left this latest round disappointed by lack of progress. Simply put, your Employer hasn't responded to a number of important union proposals, proposals they have had in their possession since June of last year.
Our members at River Rock voted to join the Union for one big reason…CHANGE! You've told us that you want a workplace that promotes fairness, fair scheduling, honours seniority, and compensates workers fairly for the important work they do. It's becoming clear that this Employer wants a collective agreement with less of these things than you have now. Your Union and your bargaining committee will continue to push the Employer on the key issues that matter to you, and very much hope that when talks resume in early May, positive movement will be made by the Employer.
