Negotiations Update and Strike Vote Meeting for We Care Home Health Services

May 2, 2017

Following six months of negotiations, we have reached an impasse. We require a strong strike vote from the membership in order to assert your priorities during the next stage which is mediation. Your bargaining committee is committed to your priorities and achieving a fair collective agreement. Unfortunately significant concessions remain and the employer's wage and benefit offer is far from a settlement we could recommend to members.

At the meeting, we will provide answers to any questions related to negotiations.

Meeting locations:

May 10                               Econolodge Maple Ridge
1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.        21735 Lougheed Highway
May 11                               Mission Leisure Centre
1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.        7650 Grand Street

May 12                                 Coast Abbotsford

May 15                               Coast Chilliwack

Members can attend at any of the venues above during the times listed. All members should attend. Please note there is no proxy voting, you must cast your own ballot.

Your bargaining committee is recommending that members vote yes in favour of a strike mandate.
