OCTOBER 27-28-29, 2015
This three (3) day “Steward Training” course (9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day) will be held at the Diane L. Wood Union Centre, Prince George Area Office of the BCGEU, 500 Quebec St, Prince George. Please note this is our new location. Provided to all new BCGEU stewards, this training clarifies the steward’s role, rights and responsibilities. It identifies support and resources available to stewards as they take forward grievances, interpret and protect their collective agreement rights, and communicate with members. The course, adapted to meet the needs in each area, often includes an introduction to Canadian labour history, Step 2 grievance handling, communications training, and information on the structure of the BCGEU. Stewards’ Training helps new stewards develop the skills and confidence they need to be workplace leaders.
