Celebrate Prince George Labour History

Tuesday, December 13, 2016 - 3:30pm to 7:00pm

Prince George’s rich labour history will be reflected in the dedication of two commemorative plaques on December 13.

BC Labour Heritage Centre, the United Steelworkers, and the BCGEU invite you to join us for both dedications, which will be followed by a reception.


3:30pm – United Steelworkers’ Local 1-424 office, 1777 Third Avenue

The United Steelworkers and the North Central Labour Council will unveil a plaque to honour Charles Howard Webb (1896–1977). Webb was a key figure in establishing the union movement in the Northern Interior.


4:30pm – BCGEU Prince George Area Office, 500 Quebec Street

The BCGEU will unveil a plaque to recognize the momentous role of the October 1969 convention that established the B.C. Government Employees’ Union.

A reception will follow at the BCGEU Area Office.
