Component 7 - Education, Scientific, Technical and Administration

Members of the ESTA Component work in colleges and institutes as instructors and support staff, in private environmental testing laboratories, and legal services. Employers include community colleges, B.C. Institute of Technology, Justice Institute, private labs, BC NDP Caucus and Constituency Offices, legal services to the public (Legal Services Society, Native Court workers, Family Maintenance Enforcement Program) and many more.

UBCO members voted 97% in favour of ratifying their tentative agreement. Highlights of the agreement are:

On behalf of the Bargaining Committee, I would like to formally announce that the votes have been counted, and the membership has voted in favour of accepting the collective agreement between BCGEU Local 702 and VIU by a clear margin.
