BCGEU members in the Retail Stores and Warehouse Component operate the provincial government's retail liquor stores and related warehouse operations. Specific classifications include: assistant manager, assistant shipper, concession clerk, foreman, manager, shipper, store clerk and warehouse worker.

Ballots and information for members to vote on the tentative public service agreement has been couriered to stewards.

The balloting is being conducted by stewards and mail contacts at the worksite. The voting starts on Monday, April 19.

Talks over the Component 5 agreement broke down on February 20, after the employer refused to discuss the union's proposal on conversions and demanded more concessions on hours of work, recall units, and unavailability restrictions for auxiliary employees.

The employer left the table even though progress on significant proposals were within reach.
