Most members of Component 10 work for private corporations, contracted by the government to maintain provincial highways and bridges. The component includes members engaged in highway maintenance, small private ferries, some municipal governments and other private companies connected with technical services.
Close to 50 workers from two separate employee groups in the Interior have voted to join the B.C. Government and Service Employees' Union.
