Most members of Component 10 work for private corporations, contracted by the government to maintain provincial highways and bridges. The component includes members engaged in highway maintenance, small private ferries, some municipal governments and other private companies connected with technical services.

Highways maintenance workers employed by Argo Road Maintenance (North Okanagan) who are members of the B.C. Government and Service Employees' Union (BCGEU) began full scale job action today.
