To All Environmental, Technical & Operational Component (20) Members:
Bargaining 2012 is almost upon us. Bargaining resolutions for the next round of both our Component and Master Agreements will come from you, the members.
As members of the B.C. Government and Service Employees' Union (BCGEU) employed by the provincial government, you are entitled to propose ideas for things you would like to see improved in bargaining. Your bargaining resolution must be presented on a BCGEU resolution sheet and passed at the Local meeting in your area (see below for dates). The Local will give your resolution careful consideration and if it passes, your Local Chair will forward it to the Component Executive for consideration.
Component approved bargaining resolutions are then forwarded for consideration to the Bargaining Conference that will be held later this year. We will set our bargaining priorities for the 16th Master and ETO Component agreements based on the proposals that come forward from the members. All of the members of your Component Bargaining Team will attend this conference.
It is important that when you submit a resolution that you provide enough information to help us understand the intent of the proposed change. It is also imperative that you provide your name and contact information so that when we are in the midst of bargaining we can call on you for any clarification that may become necessary. Please use the BCGEU resolution sheet (see download link below) and get it passed at your Local meeting in your area – dates are noted below.
This is your opportunity to be a part of making our workplace conditions better. To be clear, resolutions must be submitted to the Local meeting no later than the date listed below for them to be considered for this round of bargaining.
While we are being told we are still facing a tough mandate, we are committed to making improvements in this round of negotiations.
