BC Safety Authority bargaining update

April 16, 2015

Your committee has determined it will keep the specific issues at the bargaining table in confidence. That is we will bargain at the table, not in bulletins or emails. This update is intended to let members know that we are actively engaged in bargaining and we remain in a positive frame of mind.

We met with the employer on March 9th to discuss bargaining protocols. We have not signed off a protocol agreement, but we have established understandings on the bargaining process.

In direct bargaining, we have met with the employer on four days to date.  We also have booked five further dates for bargaining, including May 11th.

Proposals have been exchanged and areas of common concern remain under discussion. We continue to work through proposed changes to the collective agreement.

We will provide updates as bargaining unfolds, or when events require fast communication.

In solidarity
