LOCAL ISSUES BARGAINING STALLED - EMPLOYER SEEKING CONCESSIONS WHILE OFFERING NOTHING!
Your Bargaining Committee resumed local issues bargaining with the College on August 23rd. The Employer is seeking a large number of concessions in bargaining. The Union has repeatedly informed the College’s representatives that there will be no concessions, particularly when the College is following the Government’s mandate to have no increases in wages or benefits. On August 25th the parties agreed to adjourn local issues bargaining as little progress was being made. The parties have agreed to wait to see if any progress is made at the Provincial Common Table bargaining which will likely start by October.
We remain hopeful for a breakthrough at the Provincial Common Bargaining Table.
