Helping members develop new skills is a top priority for BCGEU.
Our union has a comprehensive education program in place to help our workplace leaders, stewards, local officers and bargaining committee members develop skills and expertise to represent members on the front line.
There are a number of different courses to help shop stewards hone their advocacy skills to solve problems in the workplace. Other specialized classes include bargaining and health and safety training.
There are also more general skills building opportunities to help develop public speaking skills, understand stress in the workplace and learn how to combat racism and other forms of discrimination at work or in your community.
The BCGEU is committed to educating to promote social change. We encourage members to get involved and take advantage of the many opportunities to learn, to grow and to help strengthen BCGEU.
