Area 12 Cross Component Committee is happy to provide the following education courses to all BCGEU members (feel free to bring your partner /spouse):
Pension for All – Put Simply:
Whether you have a pension or not, this course is still for you. Learn about Old Age Security (OAS), Canada Pension Plan (CPP), and Guaranteed Income Supplement Plans (GIS), and what the rules are and how they interact with a pension and how it all ties together to provide you with a more secure retirement. Also learn the differences between a defined benefit or defined contribution pension plan (if you don't know what yours is, we can help!), how your pension plan is a predictor of your future retirement income and what the impact is of fees and other issues surrounding pensions.
End Workplace Bullying – Bullying – What it is and what it isn't:
Explore the underlying causes of bullying. Review effective employer policies, collective agreement language, the new WorkSafe BC rules, and most importantly how do we work together as a union, as members, to stop bullying in the workplace and what the responsibilities are of employers.
HOW DO I REGISTER:
To register, please call 250-635-9126 / 1-800-665-1664; or email firstname.lastname@example.org providing your name, phone number email address and which course(s) and time(s) you prefer.
